Creative Colors International Inc.’s Dallas-area franchisee follows a path of service and devotion to help two charities improve the lives of local community members and provide a positive experience for its customers and employees.
CCI DFW saves customers money by repairing and restoring their existing furniture and buffing up the interiors of restaurants in the Dallas metropolitan area. Jeff Boyer, owner of CCI DFW, purchased his franchise in 2016 and has grown his business to seven vans and eight full-time employees. Boyer has a unique philosophy for fostering a family-focused atmosphere that promotes the spirit of giving and helps people struggling to make ends meet in the local community.
“For us to be blessed as a company, we have to first be a blessing,” Boyer said. “I’m a believer, and I prayed when I started my business. If my CCI business was successful, I would try and be a blessing to my employees.”
Occasionally, when Boyer’s technicians head to a house to make a furniture fix, the customer decides they would prefer to purchase a new piece instead of repairing their existing furniture. CCI DFW technicians help the customer by removing the old furniture free of charge. They store it in a local warehouse and as time allows, technicians repair the piece to its original luster. The used furniture serves as a great training tool for employees to improve their skills, Boyer said. When the furniture is finished, Boyer’s service technicians deliver it to one of two local charities that resell it to raise funds for the less fortunate.
“We want the end product to look beautiful,” Boyer said. “Not only do we need to do our best work, but also remember why we are serving. Providing furniture to charities helps my employees understand the importance of being a responsible community member.”
Currently, Boyer’s team donates furniture to Arms of Hope, a Christian care organization that assists children and single-mother families in need, and Cornerstone of North Central Texas, a faith-based financial assistance, job placement, mentoring, coaching and budget accountability nonprofit. “We’re not doing this for pats on the back. We have a meaning-driven incentive for doing it within our group and community,” said Boyer
Mokena, Illinois-based Creative Colors International Inc. is the leader in on-site leather, vinyl and fabric repair. Our employees never take advantage of us. As they get settled into our culture, we find that they are trustworthy.”
