“This is a first for me,” Yamamoto pointed out, “before if I had worked for somebody, I’d be a field sales guy. Or when I did my detailing, it was always by myself. For me to transition owning my own business like this and to get to the point where I can oversee employees, that’s kind of exciting! And being that it’s a business I’m familiar with, this step isn’t scary.”

Yamamoto points out that word-of-mouth advertising and reputation is huge in Hawaii. He says he plans to begin by hiring friends or acquaintances that he has a rapport with.

“The trust factor [in Hawaii] is huge,” admitted Yamamoto. “In my sense in bringing on somebody that I know, I can rely on the fact that they’ll be up front and transparent. If they’re going to be willing to come on and work with me, I can be confident they’ll do a good job.”
