When it comes to car maintenance, most car owners do what is required to keep the vehicle running as it should. They change the oil, the tires, get routine engine checkups. You spend a lot of time in the interior of your car, so you want the upholstery, leather, vinyl, chrome, and plastic to be in good shape. 1. First and foremost – commit to clean! Oh, we get it – not everyone is an OCD clean freak and it’s easy to let things get out of control. Clothes, soda cans, papers, etc. can quickly pile up if you’re not careful. However, like anything else in life, the best way to slow down the aging of your interior is to prevent what you can in the first place. Ideally, you’ll take the time to keep it cleaned and polished (or, if you prefer, we can handle that for you!). Regardless – do what you can to pick up debris/loose items every time you exit your car and empty your side door trash each time you fill up at the pump!
2. Spring for the deluxe car wash treatment. Yep – in today’s hustle and bustle world where countless people are putting in 60, 70, even 80 hours a week, it’s impossible to find time to wash your car’s exterior…much less detail the interior. So, when you do take your car to your local car wash on a rare lunch break, go all-in on the deluxe treatment. Pay the few extra bucks so they’ll shampoo the carpets, vacuum the upholstery and polish dashboard surfaces. Your car will look like new, you will have added years to your interior and you will enjoy driving your car.
3. You have a trunk – USE IT! Many of us get so busy that we throw groceries, sports equipment, shopping bags, etc. on our seats instead of the trunk. This can frequently lead to tears, scratches and nicks that damage the value and aesthetic appeal of the car.
