CCI Applauds Its Employees on Labor Day

September 4, 2020

To celebrate Labor Day, Creative Colors International Inc. would like to thank all of its employees for their dedication, drive and perseverance during this challenging year.

The flexibility and hard work of its franchisees, service technicians and corporate team members following the outbreak of COVID-19 this spring helped the mobile leather and vinyl repair company maintain its competitive edge, develop new offerings and continue to provide stellar customer service. CCI prides itself on treating its employees and customers like family and appreciates all their efforts and contributions this year to help the company weather the pandemic.

“Creative Colors has the finest team members and technicians,” said Mark J. Bollman, CCI’s president. “Our skilled technicians provide excellent craftsmanship and stellar customer service. Their ability to adapt and evolve during the pandemic makes us extremely proud.”

Shortly after the first case of COVID-19 was diagnosed in the United States, CCI added a new Sanitizer & Disinfectant to its lineup of services to help its employees provide an added service to their customers. CCI’s Sanitizer & Disinfectant is a one-step hospital-grade cleaner, deodorizer and sanitizer designed for use on a variety of surfaces. The new cleaner enabled CCI’s employees to get back out in the field and provide customers with a vital service during this unprecedented time.

In addition to its sanitizing services, CCI offers on-site repair and restoration of leather, vinyl, plastic and fabric to make your damaged items look like new. The company’s restoration services can save customers up to 90 percent in expenses. CCI’s certified service technicians work with a high commission structure that offers unlimited earnings potential. They have the flexibility to create their own work schedules, which is an important benefit during this uncertain time. Many parents and kids are gearing up to start the new school year remotely, which will change the way workers tackle work-life flexibility. Having a career that allows you to create your own work schedule is key.

“My favorite part of my job is, of course, the paycheck. But I also love working with my hands, being outdoors and being in charge of my destiny,” said Jenny Borst, a service technician in the Chicago area who has serviced many local car dealerships in recent months.

Labor Day is celebrated annually on the first Monday of September. Despite high unemployment numbers, there are still more than 159 million working Americans as of July 2020, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The national holiday pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. The holiday was originally created by the labor movement in the 19th century. Unhappy with working conditions at the height of the Industrial Revolution, approximately 10,000 workers took unpaid leave and marched from City Hall to Union Square in New York City, marking the first official Labor Day parade on Sept. 5, 1882. Peter J. McGuire, general secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, and a co-founder of the American Federation of Labor, recommended creating a holiday to honor American workers. In 1894, President Grover Cleveland declared Labor Day a federal holiday to help pacify striking workers, according to History.com, an online resource.

Although some towns still host Labor Day parades, the holiday has evolved to mark the unofficial end of summer. Many people take advantage of the long weekend to invite friends over for a backyard cookout. Other families take a final trip to the beach or simply spend the day at the neighborhood pool soaking in the sun. Many retailers draw crowds during the three-day weekend by offering blowout end-of-season sales.

Whether your labor day traditions include turning on the barbeque to grill burgers or hitting the stores for great deals, CCI hopes you enjoy your day off. Take time this Labor Day to relax, recharge and spend time with your family as you bid farewell to summer.
